Learn to Work with the Magick of the Dark Moon
Shadow magick occupies a critical but often misunderstood role in the rich history of witchcraft. This book explores topics such as the ethical use of animal parts and bones, blood magick, dark moon energy, and other rarely discussed aspects of witchcraft.
With a focus on ethically sourcing materials and suggestions for plant-based substitutions, author Kate Freuler provides much-needed information and hands-on techniques to help you strengthen your witchcraft practice, connect to nature, protect yourself (and your kith and kin), and know yourself in a deep way. Within these pages, you will also discover methods for hexing, scrying, sex magick, and working with dark deities in addition to the magickal use of graveyard dirt and performing spells to assist the crossing of a dying loved one. The shadow work explored in Of Blood and Bones reminds us that not everything is love and light, and that facing the dark side supports the quest to achieve spiritual wholeness.

Let me get this straight: Sometimes Witchcraft need to get dirty nasty. Witchcraft needs to darken now and then, no matter how afraid we may be of it. There's a lot of focus on nice, sweet and kind, but that's not how Witches have worked. Kate knows this very well and gives you the right ingredients and instructions to do it when you need to do it.

From animal remains (and herbal options if theyre not available or are way beyond form being your thing) to ancestral working, omens, divination, devotions and basic guidelines to work with the darkest aspects of magics. This book includes these topics and more with several spells and rituals to serve as a ground for you to start and see if this is something you want to do practice more often.

There's a strong focus of ethics and how to correctly make use of these materials. Although you will dwell on the most controversial aspects of Witchcraft, it will be always with a word of caution to keep you safe and legally correct no matter what. Also, you will find several options if what is is explained is not possible in any way, not to mention it is easy to adapt these spells and rituals to fit what's possible for you.

I learned a lot from Kate Freuler and will re read this soon. Of Blood and Bones: Working with Shadow Magick & the Dark Moon is already one of my favorite books of this year because of its topics and how they are handed. There is power in darkness. This books is the perfect guide for all kind of Witches to come and get it!
