Hello pornies. ^^ I hope you are doing great. There's something I've read a lot in some books and posts, but haven't gotten the details or reasons why: that there is magic in semen. Now, I know this has to be true and I never doubted it, but I wanted to know exactly why? What does it have that makes it a powerful material to include in Witchcraft, and how to actually do it?
One of the first things I found was that it was used as invisible ink, something discoverd by Sir George Mansfield Smith-Cumming, (Brendon, 1999) which makes a lot of sense, if you remember that semen, once dried, can only be seen under ultraviolet light. Like Cumming said, "every man (is) his own stylo". This makes me think of glamour, concealment and invisibility magic. Just started I already like this!
According to Gallup, Burch and Platek (2002), "semen may antagonize depressive symptoms and evidence which shows that the vagina absorbs a number of components of semen that can be detected in the bloodstream within a few hours of administration." In common English, this means that you can get happier with a healthy dose of cum. Also, Koelman, Coumans, Nijman, Doxiadis, Dekker, and Claas (2000), said that "that oral sex and swallowing sperm is correlated with a diminished occurrence of preeclampsia", meaning that it helps with cardio health. It's good both for the physical and metaphorical hearth, then.
Considering this, all hearth matters can be linked to semen, from happiness and depression to energy, physical health and resistance. It obviously has fertility and reproductive associations, but did you know it can also be a poison? It is said that Sumer creator God, Enki, ejaculated "the Tigris river into the landscapes that give birth to civilization. The ‘water’ mixes with dirt, and the first humans are made out of clay", but that He algo got sick 'from eating leaves made from his “spilled waters.”' (Titterington, 2017). By the way, Enki can also be considered Lord of the water and lord of semen (Leick, 2003). However, keep in mind that Sumerian "a" or "Ab" can mean both water and semen. (Benito, 1969).
On the other (not so sexy) hand, Mandal, MD (2019) tells us that:
In Papua New Guinea some communities believe that semen provides sexual maturation to the younger men of the tribe. The tribes believe the semen of older men can bestow manliness and wisdom to the younger men and for this the men need to fellate their elders to receive their authority and powers.
Forgetting about the cultural differences, this links semen with wisdom, experience, leadership, manhood and maturity. This denotes the high level of intolerance and stigma surrounding LGBT+ people in this island (Tokstori, 2016), since it implies that cisgender male are the only ones who are "real" men.
Following with these ideas, Ancient Egypt had a similar conception. Titterington (2017) explains that Horus and Set fought hard for the throne of Egypt. When the ancestors called for Them to stop, Set tries to trick Horus having sex with Him, Set being the top, in order to make His nephew look less powerful for being dominated. Horus manages to catch Set's semen with His hand, and in the morning, Isis cuts it to feed a fish with it. She then masturbates Horus (according to mythology, She is His mother and also wife since He is Osiris incarnation), uses His semen to prepare a lettce for Set, who eats it for breakfast. When the Gods call for the semen of Set, after He boasts about dominating Horus, the fish comes, but when They do the same with Horus', a drop appears in Set's foreahead. In a plot twist, Thoth gets Horus' semen and puts it in his head, declaring Himself the king.
Since Thoth is the god of wisdom, writing, hieroglyphs, science, magic, art, judgment, and the dead (according to St. Wikipedia), it would create more associations, some of which I mentioned already. However, this is just the surface of what one could find, but I think it's been enough for one day, don't you think? Turns out that semen is actuall a spiritual bomb with several uses and associations. I hope you liked this article! Did you know any of the myths or ideas I included? Have suggestions for future articles? Let me know in the comments!
