They believe they only need each other, until they collide with their soul mate. Jax is an omega, Hugo is human, and their love is forbidden. They’ve spent the last seven years on the streets, relying on no one but each other. When they collide with Dominic, they realise something has always been missing. Jax is keen to get to know the alpha, but Hugo resists the mate-call, worrying that, as a human, there will be no room for him.The only way they can be free to love each other is to escape the UK, but will Dominic leave his life behind to find home with two younger men? Run Free is an alternate universe MMM shifter novel, with fated mates, knotting, mpreg, an age-gap relationship, and a happy ending.

I was a bit afraid of this book for being an omegaverse story and that it may be too focused on sex, but it turned out to be an important element of it, while the focus is in the characters, which are very human and realistic. It was a great surprise, very well-written and with a good development.

The backstory that Colette included at the beginning served as a good starting point and set the tone for a story of love against prejudice, social inequality and itolerance. This is a world that resembles our own, if you ask me, a fantasy reflection of the times we live in and the fights that are still going on. I particularly liked how she constructed alphas and omegas, basing them on biological possibilities, although some of the ideas gave me the chills.

Being honest, I felt the relationship of Hugo and Jax with Dominic changed a bit too fast, that there could have been a little bit more drama about and how Hugo and Jax's relationship would be affected. I felt they took it too easy and got too confortable, but that scene put aside, I really, really liked this book!

Run Free is a novel that goes right to your heart becuase it speaks about current topics, about being misunderstood, hated, rejected and being targeted for what you are, about having your freedom compromised under unfair conditions. It takes its characters on a difficult, painful journey towards freedom and love, keeping you always wondering what will be of them. One thing is for sure: you won't put this down until you're done!

About Colette Davison:
Colette’s personal love story began at university, where she met her future husband. An evening of flirting, in the shadow of Lancaster castle, eventually led to a fairytale wedding. She’s enjoying her own ‘happy ever after’ in the north of England with her husband, two beautiful children and her writing.
