When Toby meets his sexy neighbor Sean, he embarks on a new romance, but there’s also a haunting and a murder mystery to deal with.
There’s romance waiting for Toby at Darkwater House. Set on the edge of London’s beautiful Hampstead Heath, what better place for love to blossom with a stunningly handsome stranger?
But as Toby explores a passionate relationship with his dream man, dark forces are stirring within the walls of Darkwater House. There’s an angry spirit haunting the corridors and Albert the creepy landlord might be a killer.
As passion grows between Toby and his new neighbor Sean, they also work at unearthing the secrets of Darkwater House, looking for the evidence that will convict Albert, finally lay the angry ghost to rest and allow their love story to deepen.

Boy, I really liked this one! It is a spicy romance for sure and the dynamics between Sean and Toby are way too amazing to explain. I loved how things developed since they got to know each other, their personalities and their actions. Each one has its own charm, but if I had to pick I'd go with Sean because I felt him more real than any other character.

I'm also amazed with Albert. He gave me the chills since that first scene, and I couldn't stop cursing and insulting and hating him as the book progressed. Anyone would freak out with this creep, but I think Toby managed himself pretty fine. He seems to be a nice guy, but as human as anyone, he made some mistakes and overestimated himself. This made the story go into an intriguing path that, although predictable, made it all the more interesting.

The paranormal elements are on the front and center, although they don't get as much importance. Ghosts and apparitions mark the characters, but their scenes are rather short. Their charm, however, is in the author's writing style. Samuel King describes everything in detail when he needs to, and goes straight to the point when he had too. He certainly knows when to dwell deep in the story to keep you interested!

Darkwater House, by Samuel King, is a creepy horror novel, but there's a good dose of sex to arouse your senses. I loved it all much more because there wasn't a single scene that felt vulgar or felt as a cheap, graceless porn. They all came with some kink, which later became romance as the characters developed. While the ending felt a bit too quick for my taste, this queer horror novel made me shiver in every single chapter!
