Manga/Comic review: Thornbeary Phantasmagoria Chapter I

Hi there, pornies. How are you today? Ready for this coming week? As Halloween and Samhain approach, I re read some of my favorite comics, and today I want to tell you about one I really, really liked. Phantasmagoria Cafe Part I: Boyfriends, by Thornbeary, is definitely the kind of Halloween I want! You can read this comic for free; I haven't found an edition on sale.

  • Print Length: 11 pages.
  • Publisher: Unknown.
  • Publication Date: Unknown.
  • Genres: Gay, Horror, Homoerotic, Fantasy.
  • Rating: 5 / 5
Frankie and Wulfric, two employees in the supernatural Phantasmagoria Cafe, just started dating and things seem to be fine, which has made things very awkward for Frankie. However, the werewolf has some kinky solutions at had to help his boyfriend take it easy and enjoy their relationship. (Writen by me, not synopsis known at the moment of this review.)

Dear, sweet heaven. This comic was everything! The story is simple, but with interesting characters and a nice take on the supernatural. We all have seen this trope now and then, but it's almost always about the creatures dealing with humans, not so much between them. This is exactly what a good supernatural porn should be: sexy, hot, fast and straight to the point.

However, the main attractive is the art. Seriously, I haven't seen something this well-done in a good while, and boy I do have been reading comics for a time now. The colors and the characters' design surprised me a lot when I first read this piece of heaven (er, hell?) I like how the different tones mix and how good the characters look together (besides this... action, as a way of saying).

If I had to be fussy, I would have liked a bit more of world-building, as with any fantasy work, or for this chapter to be longer, because we barely get to know about the actual cafe, the customers, or anythign related to the background. But this is plain porn, so I can totally forgive and forget about this aspect (not to say that I wouldn't like a longer, more developed version in the future!)

Whoever Thornbeary is, he did an awesome job with Phantasmagoria Cafe Part I: Boyfriends. It's funny, sexy, it looks good and has gorgeous art. I would say it has a nice mix of anime syle with western comic aesthetic. Make sure you read it and the next parts! ^^ I'll be speaking about them really soon in the blog, but let me know what you think about this first chapter.

Have you read this comic? Would you recommend it or not? Let me know in the comments! Kinky regards, K!
