Good morning, pornies. ^^ Yesterday I was watching a short bisexual documentary about the common problems of bi people in the UK, and possibly the whole world. It's very simple and concrete, but there was a phrase that caught my attention when this guy said that "we're the best hiders because we can blend in", and he starts complaining about it. I get it, it's hard, it's problematic, because no one will know we're bi unless we say it or use the bi flag somehow. Being bisexual has never been easy, but I thought about it, what it means for me as a witch, and it turns out we have a few powers because of our sexuality.

First of all, this entry doesn't mean that we're better witches just because we like more than one gender, but that our nature allows us to develop a few powers because the experiences we get, and of course it is based in my own experience. I may add a few more powers with time, but these are the ones I can think of right now and the ones I want to work with the most. Finally, you don't need to be bi to have them.
Watching a short bisexual documentary and there's this guy saying we are the best hiders in the LGBT+ community like it's a bad thing. Really? May I kindly remind you that invisibility is a superpower?

Not that bu erasure is not a problem, mind you, but I'm sure we can turn things upside down and make it work in our favor.

In case you need a bit more of bisexual Witchcraft, here's a bisexual witch sigil, my experiences with bisexual fire, and the importance of science proving we bi men exist (yep, still excited about this one!) So, shall we begin?
1. Invisibility: Bisexual erasure is a real problem. We're often denied and taken as a joke when we tell someone we're bi. "Just a face", "greedy", "insecure", and more phrases and words like that are used against us. However, being invisible has always been a superpower, if you ask me. Being able to blend wherever you go is a talent not many have, and guess what? We're born with it. I've remained silent first because I was afraid, but now I do it to listen and learn so I can be prepared for the storm when someone tells me this or that.
3. Healing: It's a given that bi people have higher levels of anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicide among the LGBT+ community. Being rejecting by straight people is bad enough, but add queer people. We have twice the burden and twice the hurt. However, many of us learn how to deal with it with time, knowledge we also use to help others going through the same situations. I will never forget when I learned that one of my friends was also bi, I told her I was too, and we were so happy we hugged tightly not caring what the people around us would say. It was a short-lived friendship, but we shared so many memories, experiences, and jokes I will always remember her with love.
4. Fighting: Ultimately, being so misunderstood, judged, erased, bullied, and denied makes us stronger, our skin thicker, our tongues sharper, our minds faster. We learn how to defend ourselves and protect our kind from whoever and whatever comes. I started studying and practicing Witchcraft to help others as much as possible, and I'm the first one when it comes to protect my people (friends and family), but I'd react right away if a bi person comes asking for help, just as I did when a bi girl gave my friends a bad image of what bisexual people are like.
This may be part of my identity as a witch, maybe a sub-category, and as I said I may lengthen the list with time, yet they are an important part of my Craft, my practice, talents I'm proud of having and that I use constantly (you never know when you'll need to be invisible, trust me). Do you agree with the list? What other powers would you add? Let me know in the comments!
