I said it before and I say it again: this is good porn! The series shows how Ty and Garret get to know and explore each other, how they fall in love more and more with each book, and the adversities they face. Each novella is a long fantasy that explores many of the problems gay guys face as they grow up, although I won't deny this is an idealized and steamy version.
There have been some ups and downs in the series, truth be told, and the firt ones have a bit of a strange writing style, but this improves as the series advances. The fetishes, the high voltage, and the kinks almost killed me by constant boners and dehydration, not to mention the levels of romance and drama in the entire series.
