Book Review: A Bit More Of Me

Hi there! ^^ How are you today, pornies? ^^ I come today with a review for a novella I fell in love with after I read the first pages. It's a very short story, although it feel longer due to the topics it touches and the scenes it includes. Also, the impression it leaves is bigger. ^^ I'm talkign about A Bit More Of Me, by Kent Lowethe sequel to his debut, A Bit Of Meone of my favorite fiction readings of 2020. Thanks to the author for sending me a review copy! (And so sorry for the late review; mea culpa).

It’s Christmas. It’s snowing. It’s not for everybody.
With Jack struggling to move on from his lonely childhood, George makes it his mission to get his boyfriend to see the magic of Christmas. But just as he thinks he’s winning him over, a shocking turn of events blinds Jack to the good in humanity. Will Christmas be the most wonderful time of year after all?
DUE TO THE ADULT NATURE OF THE CONTENTS READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.

Although it is a very short book, there is some character development that helps the entire cast evolve a bit more (pardon not the pun) after the end of the novel. You get to see George and Jack in a better place, get to know them better, see how they've changed and how they keep on changing. There are several scenes that let us peek for a while in these boys' heads, understand what's going on inside of them and why they feel the way they feel.

Kent managed to give everyone their time on the highlight, especially Nan and the Wasp, hehe (man, I was waiting for it!). I had to control myself not to laugh at my phone and look like an idiot in the middle of the street! The author has a hand that can create tender, sexy, and comic scenes with ease, not to mention his descriptions always take you to any place he wants to.

I guess I would only have liked this story to be a bit longer, but part of its charm is that it's not a saga or a series. This novella was the perfect extra, a nice surprise for the author's readers, and who knows? Maybe we could get a hotter, sexier, steamier extra on Halloween? (Ahem, mister Lowe, if you're reading this, please, do it!) Because, seriously, this novella gave a serious case of blue balls! You don't do that to your readers! You simply don't!

Seduction, and comedy dance before your eyes during the whole reading. Kent Lowe wrote such a cute story in A Bit More Of Me that you will remember the first time you feel in love, the perfect sequel to A Bit Of Me that also proves what a great author Kent is! I can't wait to see what comes next, although I do expect it to have a bit more of sex, becuase... You simply don't! That put aside, go grab a copy! ^^

About Kent Lowe:
"My English teacher in Year 11 once said that I'd either be a rent boy or a writer. I wasn't successful at the first so thought I'd try the latter."
Kent Lowe grew up in East London, spending most of his youth in Dagenham, before moving to Essex.
Being a daydreamer and somewhat of a loner, he found art and literature to be the perfect medium for his endless imagination. After finishing college, Kent went on to study a Fine Art degree where he moved from canvas to installation which reared his love for both visual and literary storytelling.
Kent has always had an affinity with animals, and growing up with a menagerie of creatures, he now has fish, an orange cat and four adorable dogs that make his chaotic world just that little more harmonic.
As an artist and writer, all of Kent's works delve into humour, love and friendship.
