Book review: Mentor - Purity and Control 2

Hi there, pornies. I hope you are doing okay. These have been crazy days! I'm still reading, although I'm a bit away from internet (no sh*t sherlock)Today I come with the book review for Mentor: Purity and Control 2, by Devon Vesper. While I'm still waiting for things to speed up, this is getting better and I'm starting to wonder what will happen. ^^ Thanks to Gay Book Promotions for sending me a copy of this book and next ones!

Valis must step up as a mentor, but two highly suspicious men may ruin everything.
Something is wrong with Vohan and Xetar—two reliquary guards who have just returned from field duty. They are adamant that Valis is a spy for Qos because of the black magic he wields. Valis insists their malevolence is more than war trauma, but no one—not even his closest friends—believe him.
With the time to retrieve the lost God Jar quickly approaching, Valis must teach the reliquary guard force the necessary skills to succeed in the coming battles. However, a riot amongst the men hides Vohan and Xetar’s treachery and Valis has to act fast.
If he doesn’t, the people he loves most will pay the ultimate price.

So far, this saga has been really slow, this one in particular was a bit more than the previous ones, but it became faster in no time. There is not much action, some fighting scenes, but it focused more on drama and creating a tense atmosphere in the whole novel. Valis is put into several hard situations to which he needs to show if he's really the man many expect.

There's definitely more erotic content, although it's still too little for my taste. I can see a good thing coming, but knowing the author for the teaser she is, I know she will make me wait a bit more. ^^' This is getting better, I like how the characters are evolving and that some are getting more attention than before.

On the bad side? The troupe of the chosen one. There has no been a lot of development about this so far, although many ideas and scenes are related to it. We get a lot of religious thoughts, but no explanation on why certain things are happening. I like to know why, and so far I haven't gotten none of that, which is... not so good when you've read more than half of the saga. This needs to get better soon.

The good news is that things are changing faster than I toughts. Something dark and dangerous is coming to Valis and his group, and I'm eager to see whatever that is. I'm sure I'm gonna like it because Devon Vesper knows how to surprise me. Mentor: Purity and Control 2 was a good reading and a good installment, but the saga needs to improve soon and give some content for the whole Chosen One thing.
