Mourndays: Perspectives on Death

Good morning, pornies. I hope you are okay and feeling great. These have been some weeks from hell with a problematic phone, real life, writing, reading and whatnot, but I want to get back to my things and update as often as possible, and today I wanted to do it sharing a really interesting, enlightening video about different philosophical views on death.

We are all afraid of death in a way or the other, directly or indirectly, and even subjects that are related to it. However, when I watched this video I got many answers and counter-perspectives to my own, even a few answers to some questions. We're always bragging and talking about the wisdom of the old ages, but how often do we get into it? Me, not very often, to be honest, yet I want to change it.

I'm sure you will find it as interesting as I did and will like. As for me, I'm going to watch a few more videos on the Philosophy Crash Course with Hank Green, which I totally recommend. Have you thought about death this way? Let me know what you think in the comments!

Book Review: Guilty Pose

Hi, pornies. I'm sorry for the absence. I've been really sick these days and I could barely do the more urgent things. Right now I'm getting better, still dealing with cough and fever, but getting better nonetheless. In the mean time, I got to read another duo in one of my favorite series. ^^ Guess you know which one. Today I want to tell you about Guilty Pose, a bundle with books 4 and 5 of the Naked Gay Lust, by Ty Debauchee. Thanks to the author for sending me a review copy!

  • Series: Naked Gay Lust #4-5 (Sequel to the Desire Series)
  • Print Length: 197 pages.
  • Publisher: Self-published (March 16, 2021)
  • Publication Date: March 16, 2021.
  • Genres: Drama, Romance, Contemporary, Erotica
  • Rating: 4 / 5 stars.
TRYSTING GUILT: Naked Gay Lust - MM Book #304
Garrett's tragedy in Ty's life grows with every phone call, email, and text. This is overwhelming. Ty is melting down as he struggles to manage the unbearable pain.
Fortunately, Tanner is an honorable friend with incredible ethics. He is committed to honoring his promise to Garrett. But will Tanner's strong shoulder be enough to get Ty through this incredible nightmare? And how much will his personal attraction to Ty complicate his ability to be the friend Ty needs?
On the other hand, Garrett also asked Tanner to love Ty. What exactly did he have in mind? Is Tanner living up to his commitment, or is he way over the line with lust?

SECRET POSE: Naked Gay Lust - MM Book #305
When Tanner met Ty, he very much sought a friend with whom he could be close enough to share two very important secrets. Tanner recently shared one of his secrets. He might be gay.
How could there be another secret more difficult to share than his being gay? Tanner finally acknowledges the incredible closeness and trust he feels for Ty. He is now comfortable in revealing his second secret which becomes even more interesting when Ty flatters him with his own related talents.
For both men their new closeness, trust, and shared secrets lead to a life changing experience. Will it be positive or unfavorable, for one or both?

Ty and Tanner are becoming closer, way much closer, although that was to be expected in Guilty Pose. What I didn't expect was that their relationship would become so wholesome. They complement each other pretty nicely and I like how they keep helping the other in order to get better. Each guy has his own baggage, their own problems and fears, but they work through them together.

I liked how Ty Debauchee took care of the details in this one, his prose got better, his descriptions as well, and then the dialogues. There's an overall improvement in how the characters speak, the difference between them, maybe not as much as I would like to, but you can tell with ease.

Now, the bets part is always the sex, and Guilty Pose shows us how Tanner starts to discover himself, what he is into, his conflicted emotions, and how raw they can be. The contrast between the inner turmoil and the desire between him and Ty is just amazing (not to mention, draining as well, wink wink).

Far from being a guilty pleasure (sorry not sorry for the pun), Guilty Pose is another great book by Ty Debauchee. We know he is good at writing erotica, he knows we know, and we all know we love it that way. I would like to know a bit more about Tanner, his background, since he is falling a bit short compared to Ty, who we know too well at this point, but the series is just getting started, so I'm excited to get to know this sweetie (and may the Gods give me my own Tanner, please!)

About Ty Debauchee:
As an energetic man at 6’4” tall and 195 pounds, I very much enjoy athletic pursuits including basketball, waterskiing, and snow skiing. While having a quiet and shy personality, I value my integrity above all else with loyalty to my friends and family coming in as a very close second.
Growing up with the stress of gay urges in a straight world and struggling to find my place in the world, I frequently used my dreams and fantasies as an emotional crutch to get me through some very challenging times. By sharing these stories in my books, I sincerely hope to ease the stress of others who might be facing the similar challenges and offer an entertaining escape for anyone in need. Website.

Book Review: Anatomy of a Witch

Hi pornies, I hope everything is going well over there. I took many days off because I was really sick, and just now I'm feeling a little better (writing this on Sunday). I've been taking pills, teas, syrups, used gemstone therapy, reiki, and other things, so I'm finally getting back to who I really am. I read a little during this time, and today I want to tell you about a book that made me think a lot about my body as a sacred place: Anatomy of a Witch: A Map to the Magical Body, by Laura Tempest Zakroff. Thanks to the publisher for sending me review copy trough NetGalley!

  • Print Length: 197 pages.
  • Publisher: Llewellyn Publications (June 8, 2021)
  • Publication Date: June 8, 2021.
  • Genres: Magic, Witchcraft.
  • Rating: 4 / 5 stars.
Embodied Witchcraft for Wisdom, Connection & Power
This book is a guide to the most magical tool in your possession—your body. Not just your physical flesh-and-blood body, but also your symbolic Witch body, the conduit for bringing the material and metaphysical worlds together. Within these pages, you will explore hands-on magical practices, exercises, and sigils related to your Witch Lungs, Heart, Bones, Mind, and the spiraling path of your inner Serpent.
Magic flows most freely when you are in tune with your intuition and the power of your true self. Through dozens of activities, prompts, spells, and rituals, Anatomy of a Witch helps you connect with the seen and unseen worlds, your ancestors, and your living community. Discover the profound correspondences between your body, the mythos of tarot, and the five elements. Practice rituals and activities for protection, warding, rebalancing your home, and embracing your body, despite the limiting beliefs that society foists upon us. This book teaches you how to tap into your personal power as you make a pilgrimage to the inner workings of your true self.
Includes a foreword by Christopher Penczak, bestselling author of The Temple of Witchcraft series.

We are often told that our bodies are our own temples, that we should take care of them, that we should be healthy, that we need to be responsible toward them, but seldom we get told more than that and the usual ideas of diet and exercise. However, Anatomy of a Witch presents this idea in a more spiritual way intended for witches, although spiritual people in general will find it just as fascinating.

Exploring the connections and link between the human body and the craft of the witch, Laura Tempest Zakroff makes you rethink many of the things you may have learned at the beginning of your path as a witch, like the way to cast a circle, how the elements are found in our bodies, how to use gestures in a ritual, how to honor ourselves as a personal Divinity, and so on. Not only that, but she does it with a simple, nice style that's easy to enjoy.

On the not so enjoyable side, I felt Laura was trying too hard to make Anatomy of a Witch unique and different by including poetry, sigils, the witchual term, and references to the Major Arcana in the tarot. She has done all of it before in one way or the other, except for the Arcana, and it's exactly this part the one that looks weird, a bit our of place, as if traying to make the idea as eclectic and original as possible. I would have preferred something simpler in this . People seem to have problems with the Serpent chapter, also, arguing it is just the Kundalini concept with another name. While I didn't find it too bothersome, I was somewhat confused regarding the differences between those two.

That aside, I really enjoyed reading about my body, my own temple, how to treat myself as I deserve, and exploring different approaches to my craft. Anatomy of a Witch: A Map to the Magical Body, by Laura Tempest Zakroff, is easy to follow, presents many interesting ideas in an appealing manner, and challenges us to try doing things differently in order to become better witches.
